Landscaper’s acquisition offers wider play portfolio to schools

Northamptonshire-based landscape services business tcl, which works with a number of schools and early years nurseries across the UK, has acquired installations company Admiral Play from leading playground equipment manufacturer Kompan.

The new acquisition will enable tcl to strengthen its already strong portfolio of services to nurseries and schools and will present a broad range of play options including installation, equipment supply and maintenance.

tcl specialises in building play spaces and sensory gardens for nurseries and schools where aesthetics are really important. Operating throughout the UK with regional offices covering the midlands, south east, south west and northern counties, tcl has an established strong reputation in the education sector with a vast number of projects undertaken for schools and early years settings throughout the UK.

With its emphasis on natural play tcl blends its heritage of landscaping with its desire to provide stimulating educational and enjoyable areas in which children can feel free to express themselves and explore.

tcl Group managing director Simon Cashmore said: "Current central government directives are asking schools to ensure play spaces being built today have a strong ‘natural play’ component and require play spaces which are both better from an aesthetic perspective and satisfying local authority and Play England design principles.

“tcl’s service to schools and nurseries is a true ‘one stop shop’ for customers who want an integrated design and installation landscape solution, with market leading levels of outstanding customer service, using the best products and equipment. All projects undertaken by tcl are installed by directly employed, fully qualified, RoSPA and RPII (Register of Play Inspectors) certified and CRB checked operational teams.

“Admiral has built a strong reputation for quality play installation over the years and we feel that a fusion of Admiral’s skills and tcl’s landscape services pedigree will provide a very attractive blend of services to primary schools and nurseries,” added Simon Cashmore.
