Service was exceptional, from the first meeting until the project was complete. They really understood what was important to us at Spring Lane Nursery and have installed a super place for our children to play.

Introduction

So you’ve decided to go for a new or improved play area, transforming the environment from something that may be a bit dull and drab into a scene of excitement, laughter and learning. You may have a rough idea of what you want, or you might be able to be specific and precise. Either way, before you start commissioning designs, you need to know the answer to two key questions:

how much will it cost?

where is the money coming from?

With regard to the first question, this a good time to talk to a potential supplier such as Admiral. Playground designs often start with a brief as simple as “what can I have for £ xxx?” If funds are tight (and they usually are), your supplier should be able to help you arrive at a budget that offers the best compromise between what you’d like to have and what you can afford! Alternatively, you may specify the equipment you’d like (low level trim trail, activity panels, climbing frame, play house etc) and ask for an approximate cost. Remember that, in the end, the cost of the actual play equipment may account for less than half of your total budget as you also have to allow for the laying of safer surfacing and the equipment installation costs. These will vary depending on your existing surface. As each play area is unique, you need an experienced supplier to give you some guidance and accurate estimates.
